Taiteiden suojelujumalaa Apolloa esittävän veistoksen Arcum tendit Apollo (Apollo jännittää joustaan) Emil Cedercreutz suunnitteli alun perin kirjailija Aleksis Kiven muistomerkiksi ja osallistui sillä myös muistomerkistä järjestettyyn yleiseen kilpailuun 1920-luvulla. Monien vaiheiden jälkeen patsastoimikunta tilasi Wäinö Aaltoselta Aleksis Kiven näköispatsaan, joka paljastettiin Kansallisteatterin edessä Rautatientorilla 1939 ja on siinä edelleen.

Die Skulptur des Schutzgottes Apollo "Arcum tendit Apollo" (Apollo spannt seinen Bogen ) wurde vom Bildhauer Emil Cedercreutz erschaffen, welcher ursprünglich auch eine Skulptur zum Gedenken an den Schriftsteller Aleksis Kivi entworfen hatte. Er nahm ebenfalls an dem allgemeinen Wettbewerb für Gedenkstätten, welcher in den 20er Jahren stattfand.

Den Bogen spannende Apollo Skulptur blieb als Gipsskulptur von Harjavalta Cedercreutz in der Sammlungen des Museums, bis man von Seiten der Stiftung Emil Cedercreutz`Skulptur dazu auswählte, in Bronze gegossen zu werden.

Die Skulptur wurde in der Nähe der Hunderthäuser platziert und am 3.4.2001 im Kinderhain Park enthüllt.

Im Sommer 2005 wurde, aufgrund von Tunnelarbeiten im Stadtteil Kamppi, die Skulptur entfernt und im Herbst 2010 in den Park zurückgestellt.

Der neue Standort ist am östlichen Ende des Parks, an der Ecke der Ruoholahden- und Lapinlahdenstrasse.

Die zwei Meter hohen Sockel ist aus schwarzem Diabas . Die Bronzestatue Apollo hat eine Größe von 132 x 135 x 66 cm.

The sculpture of the patron god Apollo " Arcum tendit Apollo" (Apollo stretched his bow ) was created by the sculptor Emil Cedercreutz , who had originally designed a sculpture to commemorate the writer Kivi . He also took part in the general competition for memorials, which took place in the 20s.

The bow exciting Apollo sculpture remained as a plaster sculpture of Harjavalta Cedercreutz in the collections of the Museum , until the part of the Foundation Emil Cedercreutz ` sculpture to chose to be cast in bronze.

The sculpture was placed in the vicinity of the hundreds of homes and unveiled on 3.4.2001 in the children's Grove Park.

In summer 2005, the sculpture was due to tunnel work in the Kamppi district , away and back in the fall of 2010 in the park.

The new location is at the eastern end of the park , on the corner of Ruoholahden and Lapinlahdenstrasse .

The two-meter high pedestal is made of black diabase . The bronze statue of Apollo has a size of 132 x 135 x 66 cm.
