Björn Weckström (1935 - )

Die Fazer AG spendete die Skulptur der Stadt Helsinki. Anlass waren 100 Jahre Karl Fazer, Französisch-Russischen Süßwaren Geschichte im September 1991. Die Konditorei wurde 1891 ursprünglich in einem Holzhaus in der Kluuvikatu eröffnet.

Der Künstler Björn Weckström entwarf die Skulptur mit dem heutigen Standort vor dem Café auf der Kluuvikatu so, dass das Werk  ausgewogen in den Rahmen der herumbefindenden Gebäudesubstanz passt. Mit mehr als vier Meter Höhe erreichte diese Skulptur einen populären Charakter zu den Fazer Süßwarenprodukten. Die Figur ist aus Bronze und der Sockel aus schwarzem Granit. Die Gestaltung lässt auch noch andere Erscheinungen ersichtlich werden, wie die Wirbel der Wirbelsäule.

The Fazer AG donated the sculpture to the City of Helsinki. The occasion was one hundred years Karl Fazer, French Russian Sweets history in September 1991 The Cake Shop was originally opened in a wooden house in the Kluuvikatu 1891.

The artist Björn Weckström designed the sculpture to the present location in front of the café on the Kluuvikatu so that the work fits into the framework of balanced around situated  building substance. With more than four meters in height, this sculpture reached a popular character to the Fazer confectionery products. The figure is made ​​of bronze and the base of black granite. The design also has also other effects ,so as the vertebrae of the spine.
