Freilichtmuseum Luostarinmäki bei Turku
Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum
The Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum is an outdoor museum that offers information, specimens of skill and experiences in an original pre-industrial environment. Visitors will step 200 years back in time at the museum.
http://www.my-life-in-helsinki.com/handicrafts_museum.html
The area serves as the City's handicrafts history outdoor museum. Over 30 workshops from different fields of craftmanship display the City's handicrafts history and craftspersons' homes. Luostarinmäki is unique due to its old buildings and its workshops that have been furnished by handicrafts masters of different fields of craftsmanship. Luostarinmäki is the "Old City" of Turku since it is the only unified part of the City that survived the conflagration of 1827.
During the summer season, the museum's workshops have craftspeople working there every day. The museum's shops, postal office and cafeteria serve customers round the year. The highlight of the year are the "Handicrafts Days" in August. During the days, masters of different professions, i.e. "Golden Apple Guild Masters and Apprentices" get together and their products are sold in the museum's shops.
The Handicrafts Museum is an internationally renowned tourism attraction. In 1984, the museum was awarded the "Golden Apple" prize by FIJET, the tourism industry writers and reporters association.

Saari - Insel - Island
The island is a tranquil oasis in the midst of the city and at the museum the traditional Finnish way of life is displayed in the cottages, farmsteads and manors of the past four centuries that have been relocated from all around Finland.
Seurasaari Open-Air Museum was founded in 1909. All the different provinces of Finland are represented in the well preserved old buildings and they give an overall view of Finnish countryside life from the 18th to the 20th century. At present, there are 87 separate buildings at Seurasaari Museum.
The Niemelä tenant farm from Central Finland and the Antti farmstead from southwestern Finland form complete environments with all of the original outbuildings intact. The life of the rural gentry is illustrated by the wooden church from Karuna (1686), the Kahiluoto Manor House from south-western Finland and the parsonage from Iisalmi.
The museum also includes a country shop and several farmhouses and smaller cottages such as the Kurssi and Ivars houses from Ostrobothnia, the Selkämä house from eastern Finland, the Halla house from northeastern Finland, and the Pertinotsa house from Karelia. Website
Freilichtmuseum Siida (Ober-Lappland)
Kesäkaudella avoinna olevassa ulkomuseossa esitellään erilaisia saamelaisia asuinmuotoja sekä pyyntitapoja. Ainutlaatuisia kohteita alueella ovat mm. Tirron pihapiirin alkuperäiset rakennukset.
Ulkomuseoalueelle vuonna 1960 siirretyt Tirron hirsirakennukset edustavat Inarin talollissaamelaista asumismuotoa 1800-luvulta.
Ulkomuseoalueen kiertävän polun pituus on noin 800 m. Polun varrella on lähes 50 tutustumiskohdetta.
